Prof. Ege Yazgan who is currently as the interim rector and the director of Center for Financial Studies of Istanbul Bilgi University, graduated from the Faculty of Economics of Istanbul University in 1991. He further pursued his master studies in Economics both in Boğazici and İstanbul University, where he started to work as a research assistant. After receiving his master degree, he continued his doctoral studies in the UK, during which he spent a year in the University of Cambridge as a visiting PhD student and obtained his PhD degree from the University of Sussex in 2000 where he worked as an instructor. Since 2001 Prof. Yazgan has served as an academician in Istanbul Bilgi University where he has held several academic and administrative positions.

He served as the interim Rector of Istanbul Bilgi University for the period of 2017 (January)-2019 (February), as the Vice Rector responsible graduate school and online learning between 2015-2016 and, as the Dean of Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences between 2010-2014. Prof. Yazgan also worked in the University of Cambridge, UK, as a visiting researcher between 2008-2009 and in the Kadir Has University, Istanbul, as the director of the Center of Turkish Studies between 2014-2015.

He has initiated and contributed to several academic organizations to take place in Turkey (http://www.egeyazgan.com/activities/) and has several articles published in international academic journals (http://www.egeyazgan.com/research/).

He is a regular commentator on macroeconomic issues in Turkish TV channels and economic press. He is also the founder of Turkish GDP nowcast web site simditahmin.com.
